4 Ideas to Ensure Your Artist & Vendors Have Sustainability in Mind When Applying to Your Festival
When creating a more sustainable festival, you need to get your artists and vendors onboard before arriving. Therefore, it is a great idea to infuse your artist and vendor applications with your festival’s greener initiatives and have them agree from the get-go. Below are some ideas for enhancing your applications:
#1. Add custom questions for sustainability compliance.
In addition to your current system, you might want to consider adding in a couple of questions to better understand how they would participate.
#2. Collect signatures for sustainability policy agreements.
You can even add a sustainability clause to your terms and conditions to ensure your compliance with your artists and vendors.
#3. Collect required documents & images virtually.
Do you require document verification for permits and insurance? Ask your participants to attach that information directly to their digital application. Similarly, it’s a great idea to ask participants to attach images of their products and services to the application as well. Not only will these attachments be more sustainable than physical copies, but they will also help you be more organized by having everything easily accessible in one place!
#4. Create invoices & collect funds electronically.
Not only will this ensure you’ll get paid quicker, but it will also reduce paper checks (that could bounce) and unnecessary mailing (that costs money). Plus, if a participant needs a table, tent, or anything else last minute, you’re able to charge/invoice them instantly on-site if needed!
