Brian Reagan: My name is Brian Reagan. Since 2016 my wife and I have been selling patent wall art.

VO: This is one of our vendors who has a really interesting product that I think you're gonna like. So what Brian is doing is taking old patents and blowing them up and turning them into art that you can display in your home or in your office and it's a gorgeous way to reference the past and show what you love.

Brian Reagan: We've been selling it at events throughout our region mostly Ohio, Michigan, Indiana although we do venture a bit. We are different in that we do a lot of events every year because many people will say, oh you should have this or that.

VO: so while a lot of artists are selling online, and Brian is online, his main course of action is selling at events. So I had to ask why events.

Brian Reagan: We go to events, we get to see people we get ideas from them plus that we introduce them to the, you know, the beauty in some cases or functionality if you would and how this matches up against the most popular areas of Interest. I mean, they have been extremely helpful to our shortcomings by simply telling us, you know, you ought to concentrate on this area. I'd be a buyer I'll say.

VO: So people are buying patent wall art for themselves. Right? Well turns out you might be surprised.

Brian Reagan: I'm of the theory that we sell more to people as gifts because it says I have an appreciation of your interest, and you've never uttered the words. Our objective is to go into the 15 million record database and get exactly what they want. We're going to have something that excites someone.

VO: Every great business has a start and Brian's start was as simple as it could be

Brian Reagan: My wife's grandfather. I wanted to give a gift at Christmas to both my wife and her brother who's like a brother from another mother to me. And he was a lithographer pumping out the bicycle playing cards in 1925 when he got his first patent. So I put it together and I said well I could do this thing. And so the next six months I, you know cloistered myself and spent all the time building an initial inventory and we hit the road in June of 16’.

VO: So where can you find Brian The Patent Art Guy now and what’s the future hold for his company?

Brian Reagan: Well, we fit like a glove with Vintage Markets. Because they're decor oriented. They really attract tremendous tremendous crowds. We want to do more art shows. That was a commitment that I made last year to do more art shows and we're doing more and we like that. They're very well received at art shows.

VO: So if you're looking for your next vendor, maybe it's Brian the pattern art guy because at Eventeny we know where the artists go.
