Voiceover: Meet Katerina Bohac. She's a Toronto based artist who combines world wide experience with a passion for the strength of women.

Katerina Bohac: I am an artist. I studied art in Venezuela, in the University of Los Andes, and this and the  Armando Reverón School, and I did the ceramic specialty there. So when I moved to Prague because my father was Czech, I moved there and I started that business that it was the Latin art gallery. Art is a  special thing, it’s not like, you know, handcrafts or the things that you say are like more fast, but art is special. So I started the business in Prague in 2011. It was my first I opened a gallery there. The name of the gallery is Latin Art Gallery, or it was because I closed it in 2020 when COVID hit, but it was like ten years or more of very provocative artworks there. We were doing a lot of exhibitions and wine gatherings and openings and art workshops. Two years ago I moved to Abu Dhabi, so I was living in Dubai for, let's say the UAE for two years. And I was doing, I was working more in the private sector with the schools. And now I moved to Toronto in Canada. What is my business now is more about the ceramics and the painting. So it's like I am promoting myself as an artist now, not as a gallery, selling my art, promoting my arts on the media and social events, doing exhibitions, maybe finding places for doing exhibitions. And then of course, promoting the exhibitions when you have it, and if I will have workshops in some places also promoting workshops.

VO: With so much knowledge of world culture, it's easy to see why Katerina’s art has been successful. But how would she describe her work?

KB: I consider my art the kind of Latin American magic realism, let's say. But the theme that I am doing is Women of the World. For all of us, all the woman that we first have to believe in ourselves, to believe what we are doing, that we are different than the men, different than maybe this society wants, but we are intuitive, intelligent. We are sensible, we are powerful. So it's about that. I want the woman to wake up the power again and to believe in themselves and to find also the connection with their own power, power and own, let’s say spirit that we have all inside. And so it’s a kind of a nice target. Okay, I want to paint on woman, but I didn't know what really I would paint. So you can see there, there is a Chinese bride so it's about the Chinese how when they get married, they have to dress in red. So this is about this. The second one in the middle. This is Anya and Anya, she has this chakras painted. So it’s that person that is the new age woman thinking about the chakras and the middle patients and, you know, with the new age and the new era. And the third, this mystery. And she was one of the first  that I painted, and mystery is in the, let's say, the jungle, but also with the blue colors and the moon. So it's a kind of African woman and it's a African woman let's say in some forrest, in some magic place. Yes. And connection with the moon because a feminine energy is connected with the moon a lot. So this is and this is part of the collection that is in my web page. I have like 13 or 15 paintings of different women of the world, but each woman is a magic one. There is something about that, the inspiration it became,  like I started to paint the woman then I started to find the meaning of each one and research information for each of these women. And then it’s not that I see first the painting, no, it's like I connect. Yeah. So I want to paint and I started painting and in the moment that I'm painting then I am starting to have the ideas of who is coming and why I'm finding that information and that.
